LOTTO players are being urged to check their tickets and emails after a rule change means they could have won even bigger prizes.

Changes are being made to the National Lottery's Rolldown draw prizes from Saturday, November 7.

The changes mean that, for Lotto draws where no one wins the jackpot by matching all six main numbers, the jackpot prize will now roll down into the next prize tier. This means that players who match fewer main numbers could win a larger prize than before.

In addition, the bonus ball will now be used to determine the winners of the Rolldown draw. This means that players who match five main numbers and the bonus ball will now win a share of the Rolldown prize, even if no one matches all six main numbers.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: "These changes are being made to give players more chances to win big prizes. We urge all Lotto players to check their tickets and emails to see if they have won an even bigger prize."
