The Return of Mercyful Fate

A New Chapter in Danish Heavy Metal

Mercyful Fate, the legendary Danish heavy metal band, is back with a new album and tour.

Formed in 1981, Mercyful Fate is known for their dark and atmospheric sound, which has influenced countless bands over the years. The band's most famous lineup featured vocalist King Diamond, guitarist Hank Shermann, bassist Timi Hansen, and drummer Kim Ruzz. They released four classic albums in the 1980s: "Melissa" (1983), "Don't Break the Oath" (1984), "Melissa II" (1986), and "In the Shadows" (1993). Mercyful Fate broke up in 1985 but reunited in 1993 for a successful tour and two new albums. The band split up again in 1999, but in 2019 they announced that they would be reuniting for a new album and tour.

The new Mercyful Fate album is titled "Lucifer's Symphony" and is set to be released on March 26, 2023. The album features ten new songs, including the singles "The Jackal of Salzburg" and "The Funeral Pyre". The band has also announced a world tour in support of the album, which will begin on April 18 in Copenhagen and end on June 22 in Los Angeles. Tickets for the tour are on sale now.
