Masters Cut Line: Top 50 and Ties Advance

Different from Other Tournaments

The 36-hole cut at the Masters is unique compared to other golf tournaments. While most events use a top-65 and ties format, the Masters only allows the top-50 players and ties to advance to the weekend rounds.

Current Cut Line

As of the end of the second round, the cut line is projected to be at 1-over par. This means that 53 golfers are currently on the right side of the cut line and will be playing in the third and fourth rounds.

Historical Cut Records

Jack Nicklaus holds the record for the most Masters cuts made, with an impressive 37 appearances. Fred Couples and Gary Player are tied for second with 35 cuts each.

The Masters cut is considered one of the most difficult in golf, as the course's challenging layout and demanding conditions often lead to high scores. Only the best players in the world are able to consistently make the cut at Augusta National.

For those who do make the cut, the weekend rounds provide an opportunity to compete for one of the most prestigious titles in golf. The Masters is known for its drama and excitement, and the final rounds often produce thrilling finishes.
